The Philharmonic plan to build a new concert hall. Do you know its location?

Come and join us for the Wrocław Baroque Orchestra closing concert which will also celebrate the Chopin’s Year at the Wrocław Philharmonic! This extraordinary evening seems to be a real treat for music lovers!
On the one hand, the programme selection – the hall will resound with the Concerto in F Minor or, as some think, the more beautiful Chopin’s Concerto. In spite of its opus denotation order, the Concerto in F Minor, Op. 21 (Concerto in E Minor is denoted with opus 11) was written first at the end of 1829 and beginning of 1830 and was dedicated to countess Delfina Potocka. The Concerto was one of Chopin’s first premier works as it was composed after his graduation. It was premiered in the Salon for Warsaw’s music elite circle and the composer’s friends.
Powszechny Dziennik Krajowy (the Polish National Daily) published next day reported: ’Among the listeners of both sexes there were connoisseurs, amateurs and artists, there was also Kurpiński and Elsner (…) His former piano teacher [Żywny] sat there all moved to tears. Elsner radiated with joy. (…) In the end, Kupiński even conducted the orchestra for the young artist’.
The second piece to be performed at this concert is Mozart’s most famous symphony – Symphony No. 41 in C Major, named Jupiter by Peter Salomon. Many experts proclaimed it the crowning achievement of the entire orchestral music of the 18th century.
This concert is all the more attractive thanks to its performers. Together with the outstanding Wrocław Baroque Orchestra, the concert will feature the soloist Janusz Olejniczak – Frederic Chopin’s music interpreter of international renown. The concert will be directed by another big name – Jaap ter Linden. Being one of the first experts on early music, he co-founded Musica da Camera and was the leader of Musica Antiqua Köln, The English Concert and Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra. He directed many historic orchestras including San Francisco Philharmonia Baroque, Portland Baroque and Amsterdam Bachsoloists. He is a musical consultant of modern ensembles such as Amsterdam Sinfonietta and Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie.
The forthcoming concert will be unforgettable also because it will be performed on historic instruments (including an early piano!), therefore the entire performance will resemble the original 18th and 19th century ones as closely as possible. Do not miss it!
